About ProofOfDebt

A documentation tool born from personal experience.

Why This Tool Exists

ProofOfDebt was created by someone who has been there — dealing with debt collection letters, trying to understand what rights exist under federal law, and struggling to keep organized records of correspondence.

Like many people, I found myself receiving collection notices for debts that had been sold and resold multiple times. The paperwork was confusing. The timelines were hard to track. And finding clear, straightforward information about how to simply document everything properly was surprisingly difficult.

I spent time learning about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) — not to find loopholes or magic solutions, but to understand what these laws actually say and how to keep proper records of any correspondence.

What worked for me was simple: documentation. Keeping organized records. Sending letters via certified mail. Tracking when things were sent and received. Having everything in one place.

What This Tool Is

ProofOfDebt is the tool I wish I had when I started. It helps you:

Compile Letters

Create standardized correspondence based on federal statutes — with your information filled in.

Track Timelines

Keep organized records of when letters were sent, when responses were received, and reference dates.

Export Records

Download your documentation in organized packets for your personal records.

What This Tool Is NOT

This is not legal advice. I am not a lawyer. ProofOfDebt is not a law firm. Nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship.

This is not credit repair. We do not promise to improve your credit score, remove items from your credit report, or achieve any specific outcome.

This is not a guarantee. What worked in my situation may not work in yours. Every circumstance is different. Results depend on many factors outside anyone's control.

An Honest Perspective

I built this tool because documentation matters — regardless of outcome. When you're dealing with debt collection, having organized records of what was sent, when it was sent, and what responses (if any) were received can be valuable.

But I want to be clear: I cannot promise you any particular result. The laws are complex. Individual situations vary enormously. What a collector does or doesn't do in response to correspondence is outside anyone's control.

If you're facing a serious debt situation, especially one involving litigation or significant amounts, please consult with a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. This tool is for documentation purposes — it is not a substitute for professional legal advice.

The Purpose

The purpose of ProofOfDebt is simple: to help people who want to document their debt-related correspondence do so in an organized way. The templates are based on publicly available federal statutes. The timeline tracking helps keep things organized. The export feature lets you have everything in one place.

That's it. No magic. No secret loopholes. No guarantees. Just documentation tools for people who want to keep good records.
